Community Guidelines

Building a safe, respectful, and authentic community for meaningful compatibility connections.

Effective Date: June 21, 2026 · Version 2.0

Welcome to MateALIGN™

MateALIGN™ is a relationship compatibility platform that helps people reflect on who they are, clarify what they want, and explore meaningful connections with others. Whether you are here for friendships, romantic partnerships, or deeper life commitments, our community thrives when every member feels safe, respected, and valued. MateAlign is currently available to residents of the United States (excluding U.S. territories) and Canada (excluding the Province of Québec).

These Community Guidelines apply to all MateALIGN™ users, including Individual Users who complete assessments and participate in Individual Sessions, and Organizers who create and manage Organizer Events. By using MateALIGN™, you agree to follow these guidelines and help us maintain an environment where authentic connection can flourish.

These Community Guidelines form part of, and are incorporated by reference into, the MateAlign Terms and Conditions of Use. Your use of MateAlign is also subject to our Privacy Policy.

Our Core Values

Everything at MateALIGN™ is built on four foundational values that guide how we expect our community to interact:

Authenticity. Be honest in your self-assessments and interactions. MateALIGN™ works best when you represent yourself truthfully. Compatibility insights are only as valuable as the honesty behind them.

Respect. Treat every person in the MateALIGN™ community with dignity, regardless of whether your compatibility results suggest a strong match. Differences in values, preferences, and backgrounds are natural and should be met with curiosity, not judgment.

Safety. Every member deserves to feel physically and emotionally safe while using MateALIGN™. We take a zero-tolerance approach to harassment, threats, and abusive behavior.

Privacy. The personal insights and compatibility data shared through MateALIGN™ are sensitive. Respecting the privacy of others is fundamental to trust within our community.

Expected Conduct for All Users

Honest and Authentic Participation

MateALIGN™ assessments are designed to help you and others understand compatibility with clarity. To make that possible:

  • Complete your Self Assessments thoughtfully and honestly. Do not misrepresent your values, traits, or preferences.
  • Do not create multiple accounts or impersonate another person.
  • Provide accurate information in your profile, including your name and gender.
  • If you are under 18 years of age, you may not use MateALIGN™. We enforce a strict age requirement to protect minors.

Respectful Communication

When interacting with other users, whether in Individual Sessions, Organizer Events, or any other MateALIGN™ context:

  • Communicate with kindness and good faith. Disagreements about values or lifestyles are acceptable; personal attacks are not.
  • Do not use discriminatory, hateful, or derogatory language based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
  • Avoid pressuring or coercing others into sharing personal information, meeting in person, or continuing a conversation they wish to end.
  • Respect boundaries. If someone declines an Individual Session invitation or ends a conversation, accept their decision gracefully.

Protecting Safety

The safety of our community is a shared responsibility. All users must:

  • Never threaten, intimidate, stalk, or harass any other user.
  • Never share sexually explicit, violent, or otherwise harmful content through any MateALIGN™ feature.
  • Report any behavior that makes you feel unsafe or uncomfortable using the in-app support form to law enforcement if you feel threatened or fear for your safety, and then to MateAlign who will undertake its own investigation.
  • Never use MateALIGN™ to facilitate illegal activity of any kind.
  • If you meet someone from MateALIGN™ in person, take appropriate safety precautions: meet in public places, inform someone you trust, and trust your instincts.

Respecting Privacy

Compatibility results, assessment responses, and personal information shared through MateALIGN™ are sensitive. All users must:

  • Never share another person's compatibility results, assessment answers, or personal details without their explicit consent.
  • Never screenshot, copy, or distribute another user's private information from MateALIGN™.
  • Use the Archetype sharing feature only to share your own results, not someone else's.
  • Respect that some users may wish to keep their MateALIGN™ usage private. Do not disclose another person's participation without their permission.

Additional Responsibilities for Organizers

Organizers play a special role in the MateALIGN™ community. As an Organizer, you create Organizer Events and manage groups of participants, which means you hold a position of trust and influence. In addition to all the guidelines above, Organizers must adhere to the following:

Duty of Care to Participants

  • Create a welcoming environment for all participants in your Organizer Events. Set clear expectations about the purpose and format of your Organizer Event before participants join.
  • Do not use your Organizer role to pressure, manipulate, or take advantage of participants and take efforts to protect the personal information shared with you and delete such information as soon as Organizer's approved use is complete.
  • Be transparent about any costs, time commitments, or requirements associated with your Organizer Events.
  • If a participant reports feeling uncomfortable or unsafe at your Organizer Event, take their concern seriously and address it promptly.

Responsible Use of Participant Data

As an Organizer, you will have access to compatibility reports, participation data, and participant contact information. This data must only be used for the stated purpose of your Organizer Event. For questions about how MateAlign handles participant data, contact privacy@matealign.com.

  • Never sell, share, or distribute participant data to third parties.
  • Never use participant data for marketing, solicitation, or any purpose beyond the scope of your MateALIGN™ Organizer Event without explicit participant consent.
  • Delete or stop using participant data once your Organizer Event has concluded and the analytics window has expired, unless participants have given ongoing consent.

Event Management Standards

  • Accurately describe the nature, purpose, and audience of your Organizer Events. Do not misrepresent what participants should expect.
  • Ensure your Organizer Events comply with all applicable local laws and regulations, including those related to data protection and event hosting and ensure payment of any third party obligations.
  • If you use restricted participant access, ensure your invitation practices are fair and non-discriminatory.
  • Monitor your Organizer Events for guideline violations and report issues to MateALIGN™ support.

Prohibited Behavior

The following behaviors will result in enforcement action, up to and including permanent account termination:

Harassment and Abuse

  • Sending unwanted, repeated, or threatening messages to another user.
  • Engaging in stalking behavior, whether online or offline.
  • Bullying, shaming, or publicly humiliating another user based on their assessment results or compatibility scores.
  • Sexual harassment, including unwelcome sexual advances, comments, or content.
  • Threatening violence in any form.

Fraud and Misrepresentation

  • Creating fake profiles or providing false identity information.
  • Impersonating another person, whether a real individual or a MateALIGN™ staff member.
  • Using MateALIGN™ for commercial solicitation, advertising, or promotion without authorization.
  • Attempting to manipulate compatibility scores or game the matching algorithm.

Security and Platform Integrity

  • Attempting to access another user's account without authorization.
  • Reverse-engineering, scraping, or otherwise interfering with MateALIGN™'s systems or code.
  • Distributing malware, phishing links, or other harmful content through the platform.
  • Exploiting bugs or vulnerabilities rather than reporting them to our support team.

Harmful Content

  • Posting or sharing content that promotes violence, self-harm, or illegal activity.
  • Sharing content that sexualizes minors in any way.
  • Distributing spam or misleading content through any MateALIGN™ feature.

Reporting Violations

If you encounter behavior that violates these guidelines, we encourage you to report it. MateALIGN™ provides multiple ways to raise concerns:

In-App Support Form: Navigate to the Support section in your account and submit a report.

Email: Contact us directly at support@matealign.com with details of the incident, including any relevant screenshots or information.

Organizer Escalation: If the issue occurs during an Organizer Event, notify the Organizer first. If the Organizer is the source of the problem, report directly to MateALIGN™.

If you feel you are in immediate danger, please notify your local law enforcement.

When you submit a report, please include as much detail as possible: what happened, when it happened, who was involved, and any supporting evidence. All reports are treated confidentially, and we will never disclose your identity to the reported party without your consent unless required by law.

Our Commitment to Reporters

  • Every report is reviewed by a member of the MateALIGN™ team.
  • We will acknowledge your report and keep you informed of the outcome where appropriate.
  • Retaliation against anyone who reports a violation in good faith is itself a violation of these guidelines.

Enforcement and Consequences

MateALIGN™ enforces these guidelines fairly and proportionally. When a violation is confirmed, we may take one or more of the following actions depending on the severity and context:

Enforcement Actions

Warning: A formal notice that your behavior has violated these guidelines, along with a clear explanation of what must change.

Temporary Suspension: Your account may be temporarily restricted from certain features or fully suspended for a defined period.

Permanent Ban: For severe or repeated violations, your account will be permanently terminated without the possibility of reinstatement.

Organizer Event Removal: Organizers who violate guidelines may have their Organizer Events shut down, their Organizer privileges revoked, or their account banned entirely.

Law Enforcement Referral: In cases involving threats of violence, illegal activity, or child safety concerns, MateALIGN™ may report the matter to relevant law enforcement authorities.

IN NO EVENT WILL A REFUND BE ISSUED.

Factors We Consider

  • The severity of the violation and its impact on affected users.
  • Whether the behavior was intentional or a misunderstanding.
  • The user’s history, including any previous warnings or violations.
  • Whether the user demonstrates accountability and willingness to change.

Appeals

If you believe an enforcement action was taken in error, you may appeal by contacting support@matealign.com with the subject line “Enforcement Appeal.” Include your account details and a clear explanation of why you believe the decision should be reconsidered. Appeals are reviewed by a senior member of the MateALIGN™ team who was not involved in the original decision, and you will receive a response within 14 business days. If you are not satisfied with the outcome of your appeal, you may request a second-level review by an independent reviewer designated by MateAlign.

Changes to These Guidelines

MateALIGN™ may update these Community Guidelines from time to time to reflect changes in our platform, community needs, or legal requirements. We will provide at least 30 days' advance notice of significant changes through the app and via email before such changes take effect. Continued use of MateALIGN™ after the effective date of the updated guidelines constitutes acceptance of the changes.

We encourage you to review these guidelines periodically. The current version will always be available in the app and on our website.

Building This Community Together

MateALIGN™ exists to help people form meaningful, compatible connections. That mission is only possible when our community is safe, honest, and respectful. These guidelines are not just rules; they reflect the kind of community we want to build together.

Thank you for being part of MateALIGN™. By following these guidelines, you help create a space where authentic connection can thrive.
